Jiro Dreams of Sushi is the story of 85 year-old Jiro Ono, considered by many to be the world's greatest sushi chef. He is the proprietor of Sukiyabashi Jiro, a 10-seat, sushi-only restaurant inauspiciously located in a Tokyo subway station. www.PhilinBangkok.com http www.IMInfoBlog.com http I go to Sapporo Ramen Bishamon Sushi Restaurant beside 42 Tee Off the Golf Driving Range on Sukhumvit between Soi 42 and 42/1 across from the Life Condominium for dinner. I have been once before and was impressed by the quality of the food and service. This time for my 2nd Anniversary in Bangkok I was missing Tokyo and Japan (was there before the earthquakes) so decided to go for Japanese food over Thai. Like last time the Yakatori sticks (170bht $5.66) were amazing grilled perfectly and so so tasty, you got to love anything wrapped in bacon and grilled LOL but seriously you have top try them. The sushi combo (300bht $10) was the same, very fresh and tasty the 8 pieces are enough to fill you up. The Agedashi tofu (60bht $2) was fried perfectly and the hot radish was a nice touch and kick, the miso soup (I did not order maybe they heard it was my Anniversary?;) was very nice, it was a thicker soup than one usually gets but packed with flavor and very tasty. Check this place out and after or before you can hit some balls at the driving range (only one in the city center) for a couple of dollars a bucket.
